The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce a new investigative training opportunity, “Financial Crimes Investigation Training,” presented by Justice 3D.
Description:
This course will equip Virginia law enforcement officers with the foundational skills necessary to conduct financial investigations. Instructors have extensive experience in investigating and prosecuting cases using financial evidence involving narcotics, financial exploitation and abuse, money laundering, fraud, and related offenses. Topics will include how to turn financial data into evidence, the Bank Secrecy Act, embezzlement law, construction fraud law, fraud law, obtaining and using financial records, writing effective search warrants for financial cases, presenting cases to prosecutors, and conducting financial interviews and interrogations. The course will also include hands-on exercises, where students will work through real financial cases.
Who Should Attend:
This training is available to sworn law enforcement officers in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Partial In-service Credit:
Partial In-service Credit (PIC) for Virginia law enforcement officers will be available.
Travel, Lodging, and Meals:
Transportation, lodging and meals are the responsibility of the participant.

Sign-in begins at 8:00 am
Training begins at 8:30 am and concludes at 4:00 pm
Cost and Registration:
There is no fee to attend this training; however, pre-registration is required.
Please note that the DCJS registration system does not have the capacity to sort eligible from ineligible registrants. Therefore, anyone who registers will receive a confirmation. It is the responsibility of the DCJS assigned course director to review the roster and make a final determination on acceptance into the course. Registrants not accepted will be notified via the email address provided during registration.
