Description
The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce the School-Based Crisis Management Virtual Roundtable (formerly known as School Division Emergency Manager’s Roundtable).
The sessions are open to all school division emergency managers, school administration, and staff across the Commonwealth who are responsible for planning/preparing for crisis management, and first responders. The virtual roundtable sessions will provide an overview of recent legislative changes, specific areas of interest or concern, and new/updated resources and training opportunities.
This program, which consists of quarterly virtual sessions, is intended to create a collaborative environment to discuss relevant issues in real-time with others in the crisis management field - new and experienced - to share tips, tools, and information. DCJS staff will be on hand to moderate and guide the agenda at each session which will include a brief overview of legislative changes impacting crisis management and other agenda items as provided by stakeholders.
Who Should Attend?
This virtual event is for School Emergency Managers, school-based personnel who plan for and/or respond to school-based crises, and all first responders.
Partial In-service Credit
Partial In-service Credit is not available.
Cost and Registration
There is no fee to attend this webinar series. Pre-registration is required.
Please note that the DCJS registration system does not have the capacity to sort eligible from ineligible registrants. Therefore, anyone who registers will receive a confirmation. It is the responsibility of the DCJS-assigned course director to review the roster and make a final determination on acceptance into the course. Registrants not accepted will be notified via the email address provided during registration.
Dates
The roundtables will meet from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on March 19, June 11, September 10, and December 10, 2025.
