Good to Great: Enhancing MDT Effectiveness and Functioning
Overview
This training is intended to support MDTs who have been operating in their current composition for 3-5 years. It is often at this point that we begin to see MDTs experience growing pains and encountering challenges around collaboration, engagement, and commitment to the model. This training seeks to empower teams to take responsibility for their own effective functioning and offers tools and approaches that support healthy collaboration.
Goals and Objectives
This training seeks to address the following goals and objectives:
• Establish a comprehensive understanding of the CAC/MDT model
• Create a shared understanding of Virginia’s MDT statutes
• Clarify common misunderstandings about MDTs and CACs
• Highlight the benefits of an MDT response for children, families, communities, and MDT members
• Share resources aimed at supporting and sustaining effective MDT functioning
Training Delivery
This six-hour training will be offered in-person at the following dates and times:

Participating MDTs are invited to select up to ten team members to attend. Representation from each MDT discipline is strongly encouraged.
