Description
The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services is pleased to announce a specialized Public Speaking Training designed for School Resource Officers (SROs). This training session aims to enhance communication skills, boost confidence in public interactions, and improve overall engagement with students and school staff.
Training Objectives:

Enhance verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

Develop strategies for effective public engagement.

Learn techniques to manage public speaking anxiety.

Practice and receive feedback on public speaking scenarios specific to SRO duties.

Who Should Attend?
School resource officers, school security officers, campus security officers, and municipal law enforcement.
Partial In-service Credit
Partial In-service Credit (PIC) for Virginia law enforcement will be available.
Travel, Lodging, and Meals
Participants are responsible for their transportation, lodging and meal arrangements and expenses.
Cost and Registration
There is no registration fee to attend this training.
Pre-registration is required.
Please note that the DCJS registration system does not have the capacity to sort eligible from ineligible registrants. Therefore, anyone who registers will receive a confirmation. It is the responsibility of the DCJS assigned course director to review the roster and make a final determination on acceptance into the course. Registrants not accepted will be notified via the email address provided during registration.
